China curbs Tibet information flow

According to a report by Amy Yee in the London Financial Times, quoting Tibetan activists in India, China has succeeded in restricting information out of Tibet. Emails and phone calls are now blocked.

The Chinese clampdown represents the latest battle in the war to control the flow oif news and information. Websites maintained by activists have become important sources of up-to-date news and images from Tibet. Monks in India have been distributing images (via CDs) emailed from Tibet to journalists from around the world.
