Caribbean commits to children's rights

At the end of the Caribbean Community’s Council for Human and Social Development (COHSOD) meeting 17-19 March in Georgetown, Guyana, government ministers agreed to The Georgetown Declaration’.

Called Building a Region Fit for Children this is a twenty-point programme of action aimed at improving the well-being of children throughout the Caribbean. It commits governments to helping children realize the rights enshrined in the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
