International Conferences on Media for a Culture of Peace
From October 6 to 9, SIGNIS (World Catholic Association for Communication) is organizing an international conference in Beirut, Lebanon, on the theme "Media for a Culture of Peace".
This meeting will be followed, in November, by a public conference on the same theme taking place at the Centre Valpré in Lyon from November 5-6, 2005.
At the same time SIGNIS has published a study document, Media for a Culture of Peace which is designed to promote reflection and discussion about the possibilities for promoting peace, in the widest sense, through the actions of media organizations and professionals. The document also puts forward a number of proposals for action. It is available in English, French and Spanish.
