New Straits Times the Catholic newspaper in Malaysia, the
Herald, has received a letter alleging a breach of its government permit by commenting on political issues. The Herald editor Fr Lawrence Andrew denied the charge and said that religion should be defined widely. He maintained the newspaper's right to comment on a wide variety of issues, including corruption and ethics.
