New media advocacy website

MediaActionCenter.org is a new website “designed as an information-exchange and networking center for people and organizations who are challenging the corporate-driven media through activism, education, research, organizing and policy advocacy.

It supports “efforts to forge policies and infrastructures that allow all people to freely communicate within and beyond their communities, tell their own stories, express their cultures and access the information they need.”

The website is a project of the Center for International Media Action (CIMA) founded in 2003 “to help connect and strengthen organizations working to transform the media and communications system. CIMA brings groups working with different political strategies into dialogue together to increase their collective ability to advance a public interest media and communications policy agenda.” CIMA has close links with the CRIS Campaign.
